Was 50 Cent really shot nine times, again? A recent article on Huzlers.com claims that Curtis "50 Cent" Johnson, was shot nine times Friday morning. Though these claims may look real, they are actually just another Internet hoax to take social media sites like Twitter and Facebook by storm.

According to the Huzlers.com post, though 50 Cent reportedly suffered nine shots, physicians allege he is still alive but hospitalized in serious condition.

Here are the details of the hoaxy story:

"Jackson was shot 9 times Friday morning outside of his $14.5 Million dollar mansion in Farmington, Connecticut in broad daylight. Police say the shooter, identified as 26 year old Eugene Hughes, fled the scene after he shot Jackson but was later caught by Farmington Police after he was found in the backyard of a nearby house."

So how do we know the story is false? Huzlers.com is a satirical news website which has been the culprit behind several recent viral social media hoaxes including one about Vine sensation Lil Terio being kidnapped and a story about WorldStarHipHop sensation Sharkiesha being killed in a drive-by shooting. The story however has been republished a second time on another humor based website called RoastRoom which seems to have given the rumor another boost. Between Huzlers.com and RoastRoom, the rumor that 50 Cent was shot nine times again and is still alive has been shared over 4,000 times.

While claims of 50 Cent being shot 9 times did surface several years ago, at which time the rapper reported an incident on May 24, 2000, in which he was shot in the face, hand and legs by a man with a nine millimeter at close range, there have been no recent shooting reports that have taken place concerning 50 Cent. In addition, the rapper was seen tweeting from his official Twitter accounts and posting on Instagram just one hour prior to the posting of this article.

In the real 2000 shooting, however, 50 Cent revealed that he was attacked by a gunman, alleged to be Darryl "Hommo" Baum, outside his grandmother's home in South Jamaica, Queens. 50 Cent addressed questions concerning the shooting on a special episode of Oprah's Next Chapter. In the video clip, Oprah asked 50 Cent about the incident and what it's like to be shot, to which the rapper replied:

"It doesn't hurt as much as people imagine it does because of the adrenaline and the shock of what's actually going on. It hurts after."

"Did you feel the first shot or the ninth one?" probed Oprah further.

"I don't even know ... I didn't even know my legs were broke. When I tried to get out of the car at the hospital, I found out both of my legs were broke."

50 Cent share that the shooter hit him multiple times in his legs, hands and also in his face.

When asked if the incident made him fearful, 50 Cent shared:

"When you go through something like that, either your fear consumes you or you become a bit insensitive ... In the beginning I was afraid... somewhere during the recovery process I got tired of being afraid and the only way to cover those emotions was to become more aggressive ... and to be angry about the situation, as opposed to feeling what I was actually feeling."
