In 2013 we saw some amazing transformations from our favorite celebrities. Stars like Christina Aguilera, Kim Kardashian, and Jessica Simpson all lost 40 pounds or more after taking on healthier lifestyles. With New Year's right around the corner we know that losing weight is one of the most popular resolutions that people will be making heading into 2014. This year Christina Aguilera lost an astounding 50 pounds and she credits the impressive weight loss to yoga and diet. Aguilera says she cut down on alcohol, and swapped out high-calorie foods for healthier choices. For example, instead of pancakes for breakfast the singer eats blueberries, turkey bacon, and half an avocado. For lunch she chooses chicken breast on salad and between meals her favorite snacks include shrimp, and celery with almond butter. When it comes time for dinner the Voice coach keeps it flavorful with fish or chicken curry. Now that sounds like a delicious diet we could stick to!

2. How Jenna Dewan Tatum Stays Toned And Fit:

After giving birth in May Jenna Dewan Tatum told Us Weekly that she stays toned and fit through dance and her vegetarian diet, "I thought, 'I've worked out and danced my whole, it will all fall into place!'" and it certainly did. The new mom also credits 90 minute workouts four days a week where she would target her arms and legs to get her amazing tone and definition.

3. How Jessica Simpson Lost 40 Pounds After Baby Number Two:

Jessica Simpson is back on Weight Watchers after giving birth twice in two years and she recently revealed that since starting the diet about six months ago she has lost an amazing 40 pounds. She started with the new Weight Watchers' new Simple Start plan, a two-week program that doesn't require you to count points and provides a shopping list and menu of options. "I saw the results really quickly," Jessica Revealed. Now she's back on the regular PointsPlus program and tries to walk at least 5,000 steps a day if not 10,000 tracked by a pedometer to burn extra calories.

Kim Kardashian credits adhering strictly to the Atkins diet and working out for her amazing 50 pound weight loss in 2013. "This was the biggest challenge of my life, and I still have some to go, but I feel so accomplished that I did this," she told People magazine in November. Clearly the hard work really paid off. The new mommy looks amazing going into the new year!

5. How Snooki Made A 42 Pound Transformation:

This year Snooki's trainer, Anthony Michael, gave iDesign an exclusive interview and revealed how the petite reality star slimmed down to 102 pounds. "Nicole's diet consisted of calorie restriction in combination with carbohydrate cycling," Michael told iDesign. Along with calorie restriction and carbohydrate cycling Snooki had her meals delivered to her from express home fitness, one of the most popular diet food delivery services amongst celebrities.

"Strength training was the main focus of Nicole's regiment because it is the most beneficial for long term and sustainable weight-loss," Michael said. "Because of the muscle mass Nicole has acquired she will not have any trouble keeping her new figure. Nicole would weight train with me 3-4 times a week and would get two additional cardio days in by doing Zumba or cardio-kickboxing."

If your new year's resolution is to lose weight start by taking up just one or two of these celebrity diet tips to get started. Grab some friends and sign up for a Zumba or yoga class, start strength training at your local gym, or maybe grab a few healthy cook books to start cooking at home to cut down on unnecessary calories.
