Paul Walker's brother Cody may replace the actor in Fast & Furious 7. Cody, a 25-year-old film stuntman, has reportedly been asked to take Paul Walker's place following the actor's death in a car crash late last month. Paul Walker already filmed some of the scenes before he passed away, leaving producers to decide how to handle his death.
"Producers had a string of meetings right after Paul's death," a source told Daily Mail. "They soon realized they needed someone who looked like Paul to finish the movie and that's when they approached his nearly identical brother, Cody."
At the moment, it is unclear if Cody Walker will agree to replace his brother in Fast & Furious 7. He does not need to decide right away, as production on the film was temporarily suspended following Paul Walker's death. Per Hollywood Reporter, writer Chris Morgan is trying to revamp the Fast & Furious 7 script to retire Paul Walker's character from the film series. If he does so, the movie could re-start production in January.
"They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance and if it's a shot they need Paul's face in close up they can CGI it later on," the Daily Mail source continued. "If Cody agrees it's because he wants to honor his brother's memory. There are many details that still need to be worked out, but right now the family and cast and crew are all still grieving."
Before Paul Walker's death, he was close to his brother Cody. Per New York Daily News, the actor served as Cody's best man just six weeks before the fatal car accident.
This latest report should hopefully put to rest the rumors that Justin Bieber is replacing Paul Walker in Fast & Furious 7. This speculation went viral following Paul Walker's death, thanks in part to an interview Ludacris gave Red Carpet News TV in May. The rapper/actor told the media outlet that he would try to get his pal Bieber a role in the new Fast & Furious movie.
Then, a few months later, Hollywood Life published a supposed trailer for Fast & Furious 7 featuring Justin Bieber. However, many people noted that the video was just scenes from prior Fast & Furious films spliced up with clips from Bieber's music videos. Also, this article was published in July, months before Paul Walker's death. Still, that did not stop some websites from speculating that Justin Bieber could replace Paul Walker in Fast & Furious 7. Thankfully, Paul Walker's brother looks like a more realistic replacement option.
