The 1996 film Matilda comes out on Blu-Ray this week, leading us to wonder where the cast of the charming film is today. The movie's star, Mara Wilson, has mostly stayed out of the spotlight since her days as a child star. She currently runs a blog appropriately called Mara Wilson Writes Stuff.

"I like to think of it as a mutual break-up: Hollywood didn't really want me anymore, and I was over it, too," Wilson explains on the blog.

Mara Wilson hopes to turn her love of writing into a professional career. The Matilda star told Parade that she is working on several books and a play, Sheeple. The latter performed at the recent New York International Fringe Festival.

"I have one young adult novel," she explained. "Here's the thing: I'm writing so many things right now that it's hard to keep track. I'm working on a non-fiction book right now that's my main focus. I was working on the young adult book, but there's been more interest in the non-fiction book so I'm focusing on that."

But while Mara Wilson is keeping busy, she did make time for a Matilda reunion over the summer. The cast and crew had a party at star Danny Devito's home, and video footage of the meeting is included on the new Blu-Ray. You can check out a photo from that day here.

The reunion even featured a special dessert in honor of one of the film's most famous scenes. "We had a big chocolate cake, of course," Wilson told Huffington Post. "Everybody was there. Pam Ferris was there, Kiami [Davael] was there ... Embeth [Davidtz] was there. It was so nice and it was just really, I mean, it was just heartwarming to see everybody and see everybody grown up and see what they'd gone through and seeing their children. I just loved every minute of it. It felt so familial."

So what have the other stars of Matilda been up to over the past few years? Read below and find out!

1)      Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, who played Matilda's horrible parents in the film, have mostly been in the news recently for their personal lives. The longtime couple shockingly announced last year that they were separating, possibly because of DeVito's wandering eye. But People reported in March that the two had reconciled.

2)      Pam Ferris

While Pam Ferris starred as the evil Trunchbull in Matilda, Wilson insisted that she is a sweet lady in real life. Harry Potter fans may recognize her today as Aunt Marge from The Prisoner Of Azkaban, and she has recently appeared in series like Call The Midwife and Luther.

3)      Jacqueline Steiger

Unlike Mara Wlison, Jacqueline Steiger is jumping back into the acting world after taking a break to attend UCLA. While she will always be known as Amanda Thripp, the young girl who was tossed by her pigtails, her resumé also lists roles in Dennis The Menace Strikes Again and An American Rhapsody. She has not appeared on screen since 2001.

4)      Embeth Davidtz

Embeth Davidtz played the kindly Miss Honey, and she has worked steadily in Hollywood over the past few years. Most recently, she guest-starred in Mad Men and had roles in films like The Amazing Spider-Man and Paranoia.

5)      Jimmy Karz

Buzzfeed tracked down Jimmy Karz in 2011, 15 years after his character, Bruce, devoured an entire chocolate cake in one sitting. He has not done much acting since then, but he has also grown up to be quite the hunk.
