People's Choice nominees have been announced, and Lady Gaga, Amy Poehler, and Breaking Bad got snubbed! This year, the People's Choice Awards will be hosted by 2 Broke Girls stars Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings. Nominations were announced on Nov. 5, with some clear favorites up front. Glee grabbed eight nominations, including one for Favorite Network TV Comedy, while Katy Perry scored five nominations for her music. Sandra Bullock also picked up five nominations, two of which are in the category for Favorite Duo, one for Gravity with co-star George Clooney, and the other for The Heat with Melissa McCarthy.
This year there are plenty of snubs for fans to be upset about, including the critically acclaimed and much loved series, Breaking Bad, which only earned one nomination in the category Favorite Series We Miss The Most. Lady Gaga also went without scoring any nominations herself, but her Little Monsters succeeded in picking up a nomination in the Favorite Music Fan Following category. Another notable snub? Amy Poehler, who is missing from the Favorite Comedic TV Actress category, even though she's one of SNL's most adored alums and currently stars in Parks and Recreation, one of the funniest shows on TV.
The People's Choice Awards is one of few award shows that gives ultimate power to the fans, who can vote as many times as they want for their favorite movies, TV shows, actors, albums, and music videos. The show has always had playful categories like Best On Screen Romance and Best Gal Pals, and now People's Choice has expanded categories to include awards for Favorite Streaming Series, Favorite New Talk Show Host, and Favorite Series We Miss The Most.
The 40th annual People's Choice Awards will air on January 8 on CBS, but voting ends on December 5 so cast your ballots quickly! To see a full list of nominees and to cast your vote visit People's Choice.
