Anne Hathaway turns 31 on Tuesday. So how did the actress spend her big day? Per Us Weekly, the star held a private party at a vegan restaurant alongside her husband, Adam Shulman, and friends like Amy Adams.
"[Anne] looked great," a source said. "She got up a lot and was socializing with guests."
Anne Hathaway concluded her birthday celebration with a giant chocolate cake. We don't know what she wished for when she blew out her candles, but it may be hard for her to top this past year professionally. She recently won her first Oscar for her performance as Fantine in Les Miserables.

With an Academy Award already in hand, Anne Hathaway could have instead wished for the so-called "Hathahaters" to go away. Many stories have been written about the public's dislike of the former Princess Diaries star, with one expert even blaming the hatred on her "mature" face. But others believe her apparent phoniness is to blame.
"We love authenticity, that's why we have a billion reality shows," Hollywood culture writer Neal Gabler told The New York Times. "And here comes Anne Hathaway. Everything she does seems managed, calculated or rehearsed. Her inauthenticity — or the feeling of her inauthenticity — is now viral."
But since today is Anne Hathaway's birthday, we should not focus on this negativity. Instead, here are five reasons we love Anne Hathaway.
1) Anne Hathaway wanted to be a nun.
Most little girls want to be a singer or a princess when they get older. But since young Anne Hathaway grew up in a Christian household, she had a different career goal.
"When I was younger I thought about becoming a nun for a while," she said in 2011. "You know how it is when you're growing up, and you're going to be a lot of different things, but I actually wanted to be an actress before I wanted to be a nun. The nun was more of a side-bar thing."
And who doesn't like nuns?
2) Anne Hathaway Left The Catholic Church To Support Her Gay Brother.
Despite her Christian upbringing, Hathaway could not stay with an organization that did not accept gays. Hathaway and the rest of her family quit the Church after her brother, Michael, came out.
"Why should I support an organization that has a limited view of my beloved brother?" she told British GQ in 2011.

4) Anne Hathaway's Interview Response Matt Lauer Was Epic
TODAY host Matt Lauer came under fire for referencing Anne Hathaway's wardrobe malfunction during an interview last December. Lauer told the actress, "We've seen a lot of you lately." But Hathaway, ever the professional, used this remark to both speak out about society and promote her film.
"I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of someone in a vulnerable moment and rather than delete it and do the decent thing, sells it," she said, per Hollywood Reporter. "And I'm sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies sexuality of unwilling participants, which brings us back to Les Mis, because that's what my character is. She's someone who is forced to sell sex to benefit her child because she has nothing and there's no social safety net."
5) Anne Hathaway Looks Like She'll Be A Great (And Adorable) Mother
False rumors spread recently that Anne Hathaway was pregnant. But while her rep denied these reports, Hathaway appears perfectly comfortable around children. Photographers spotted her this weekend happily cuddling with her friend's baby while on a Sunday picnic.
