Now those fake death stories are surfacing once again. An old story about Dion dying in a plane crash has been circulating around the Internet for years. We're not quite sure how, but this horrible story has made its way to front pages once again, in addition to a story about her dying in a car crash. The source of the awful stories about Dion dying? A malicious Facebook app.
Examples of the rogue Facebook app stories about Dion dying in a plane crash include: "Actress Celine Dion was believed to have been a passenger on the flight. Raw footage of her accident has been recorded and leaked to fox news but cannot be broadcasted over the air so it was uploaded via the internet for the public to view. Due to the graphic content of this video, please be advised 18+ only. Watch Full Exclusive Video."
The Facebook app also includes stories about her dying in a car crash. One of them begins with: "Her heart will go on? Highway Safety Investigators have told reporters that Celine Dion lost control while driving a friend's vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing her instantly." Facebook users have been advised that the stories about Dion dying are a hoax and they should not click links to any stories about it.

Global Associated was responsible for the bogus stories both this year and last year. Their fake plane crash story entitled "Celine Dion presumed dead in private plane crash" falsely stated that a crash has happened at "Denver Peak-Regional Airport." The airport doesn't exist and Dion has not recently traveled in that region.
In addition to a special one-off concert on Tuesday night in New York City, Dion is currently gearing up for her Sans Attendre tour, which will promote her French language album of the same name that has sold 1.5 million copies worldwide. The show will only have nine concerts and be limited to two dates in Antwerp, Belgium, with the final seven dates taking place in Paris.
