Is Joe Jonas back together with Camilla Belle? The two exes reunited at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Grand Inaugural Gala on Thursday, fueling rumors that the singer and actress were dating once again. E! reported that Belle actually approached Jonas when he was sitting by himself at a table.
So does this mean that Joe Jonas and Camilla Belle are back together? Not exactly. A source told Us Weekly that the two only spent a few minutes together at the event. So it seems that these two remain broken up, at least for now.
"For a solid 15 minutes before dinner started, Camilla and Joe had a one-on-one chat at his table," the source said. "They ended their chat with a big hug."
The two first started dating in 2008 after Jonas met Belle on the set of the Jonas Brothers music video for "Lovebug." Jonas was dating Taylor Swift at the time but broke up with her a short time later. Jonas insisted he never cheated on Swift, but some believe that Swift's song "Better Than Revenge" is about Belle coming between the two singers.
"She took him faster than you can say sabotage," Swift sings. "She's an actress/But she's better known for the things that she does on the mattress."
Joe Jonas and Camilla Belle split up a year later, though a source told Just Jared at the time that the two would remain friends.
This report comes during a time of turmoil for Joe's band, the Jonas Brothers. The threesome canceled their tour last week, just days before it was scheduled to begin. Per PEOPLE, Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas disagreed over the group's musical direction. The group also recently deleted their Twitter account.
But unconfirmed reports claim there may be a different reason for this potential Jonas Brothers breakup. Star claimed that Joe Jonas is actually battling a secret drug addiction.
"He's been dealing with substance abuse issues for quite some time," a source said. "The tour would have never survived with how Joe was behaving."
Another source added: "At this point, Nick and Kevin don't care what is going on with the band, they just want to see their brother healthy. They've had discussions with Joe about their fears for him and the importance of getting help."
At the Thursday gala, Joe Jonas declined to speak about a potential Jonas Brothers split. However, he did note that he wants to act in the future. And he may have plenty of time to do so, because PEOPLE reported that the Jonas Brothers are not getting back together anytime soon.
"They are not getting along at all. It's uglier than you think," a source said. "They are each looking into solo projects. Nick and the Administration are working on another album. They are moving forward away from the Jonas Brothers. I think this is the beginning of the end."
