Gwyneth Paltrow and Martha Stewart are in a major feud over who is the ultimate lifestyle brand authority, and the original homemaker has slammed the Goop founder for copying her career.

Stewart has made no secret of her disdain for Paltrow, and their war heated up when she criticized the actress for being a phony. "I haven't eaten at Gwyneth's house. I've never seen how she lives. But, if she is authentic, all the better. I mean, I certainly hopes she is. She really wants to be a part of the lifestyle business,"" Stewart politely remarked.

Yet, Stewart's diplomatic disposition didn't last long, and the home and design mogul ultimately slammed Paltrow for being a copy-cat of her own innovations. "I think I started this whole category of lifestyle," Stewart quipped. True to form, Stewart continued throwing shade on Paltrow in the classiest way possible, but it was clear that she chalked the Goop founder's success to her Hollywood fame.

"She's a charming, pretty person who has a feeling for lifestyle. She wants to be a lifestyle arbiter. Fine. Good," Stewart added. And while the undetected eye may have not sensed Stewart's disdain for the World's Most Beautiful Woman, prior feuds indicate the true venom behind her inconspicuous words.

In fact, Stewart and Paltrow's war began in 2011 when the actress debuted her first cookbook, My Father's Daughter. To celebrate the launch, Paltrow hosted a grand dinner fit with A-list guests, but was bothered when Stewart left before dinner was served.

"Martha didn't stay for the dinner," Paltrow complained to the New York Post. "She had a drink and then left." Paltrow lamented about the tireless work she put into the event, in an attempt to further implicate the lifestyle veteran. "I had a lot of nervous anticipation about it. I spent all of Sunday... cooking and preparing everything," Paltrow said.

Stewart quickly countered Paltrow's allegations, and rep chalked up her early departure to a busy schedule. "Martha had a previous dinner engagement that she couldn't miss," Stewart's rep said. "She told Gwyneth she was sorry she wasn't able to stay, but was happy that she could stop by the party."

Needless to say, there is still some very bad blood between Stewart and Paltrow, and the latest drama only serves to further tarnish the Oscar winner's increasingly bad reputation. It was reported earlier this week that Vanity Fair is moving forward with a shocking tell-all story about Paltrow, and considering her feud with Editor-in-Chief Graydon Carter, it will likely be another blow to her pristine image.
