Franchitti was racing in the Grand Prix of Houston on Sunday when he lost control of his car. The vehicle flew into fencing on the side of the track. Franchitti suffered a concussion and broke two vertebrae and his ankle. Debris from the car also flew into the stands, injuring 13 fans. Most of those injuries were not serious.
"[Franchitti]'s talking," said Chip Ganassi, owner of the injured star's racing team. "His ankle is a little sore. His back is a little sore. He's going to take a trip to the hospital, but he is OK."

"Thank you for the prayers for Dario, I have only clothes on my back & the dogs but that's all that we need & we are on our way," she wrote on Sunday.
The next day, Judd added, "Amazed by the incredible outpouring of care & prayers. Thanks, everyone. Keeping our heads down here & doing what's in front of us to do."
These tweets could imply that Ashley Judd and Dario Franchitti are back together. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the couple has indeed reunited following the divorce announcement. But this story has not been confirmed.

Franchitti is a four-time IndyCar champion and three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500, the biggest race in his sport. Ashley Judd made headlines when she appeared in the stands during her then-husband's races. She also has an established acting career, appearing in movies like Kiss The Girls and Heat and the television shows Sisters and Missing. She mostly recently appeared in the action flick Olympus Has Fallen.
Ashley Judd recently contemplated running for a Kentucky Senate seat against incumbent Mitch McConnell. But she ultimately chose not to start a campaign, allegedly because of sabotage from others in the Democratic Party.
