Vanilla Ice isn't normally one to make serious statements regarding the fleeting nature of fame, but he did agree with Miley Cyrus about one thing in her Rolling Stone interview.
When speaking of the "Beauty and the Beat" singer, 20-year-old Cyrus said that he would not be taken seriously as an artist if he continued getting into club fights and not wearing shirts at bizarre moments. She then compared him to Vanilla Ice!
"He's trying really hard," Cyrus said of Bieber. "People don't take him seriously, but he really can play the drums, he really can play guitar, he really can sing. I just don't want to see him f*ck that up, to where people think he's Vanilla Ice. I tell him that. Like, 'You don't want to become a joke. When you go out, don't start shit. Don't come in shirtless.' But the thing is, I think boys are, like, seven years behind. So in his head, he's really, like, 12."
As opposed to being insulted by Cyrus' negative comments, Vanilla Ice took the comment in stride, saying he wasn't only honored that she mentioned him at all, but that she was right!
"It's like living an artificial life" Vanilla Ice, a.k.a. Van Winkle, said, "when the dust settles, no one can figure it out or help you but yourself."
Ice continued his lighthearted attitude by posting a picture of his tattoo with the words "Miley Cyru$" on each foot. The photo spoofed Cyrus' feet. She tattooed the words "Rolling $tone" at the bottom of hers.
Talking about silly tattoos, Cyrus said: "People get tattoos of the most f*cked-up shit," she said. "Did you know Alec Baldwin has Hannah Montana's initials tattooed on him? No, wait—Stephen Baldwin. He said he was my biggest fan, and I told him my biggest fans have tattoos. So he got 'hm' tattooed on his shoulder. People do f*cked-up shit."
