Does Michael Jordan have a love child with Laquetta Theus? Per TMZ, Theus is suing the NBA legend for child support after he allegedly fathered her 2-year-old daughter, Juyana Rachelle Henderson. Michael Jordan is denying the claims.
"Michael Jordan when are you goning to support your 2year old daughter you drop 10million on your nice wedding that you had april 27 that was nice but dont you think It time that you support your daughter and the way you should," Theus wrote on her Facebook page in May. " ... every sense 2008 I been now you It's been nothing but a lie you told me and I just want you to man up to your daughter and her father should not lie to her about nothing so I relly hope that you could be the best father that you can be to her she look just like you so stop keeping your daughter a secret."
This is not the first time Michael Jordan has faced a paternity lawsuit. Earlier this year, a woman named Pamela Smith also claimed she fathered a love child with the current Charlotte Bobcats chairman. Smith believed Jordan was the parent of her son, Grant Pierce Jay Jordan Reynolds, who was born in June 1996. If this was true, it would have meant Jordan slept with Smith while he was still married to his now-ex-wife, Juanita Vanoy.
From the start, Michael Jordan claimed a divorce lawsuit had established the true paternity of Pamela Smith's son. A judge agreed, throwing out the case in July and ordering Smith to pay the NBA star's legal fees. That same judge noted that Smith's paternity lawsuit against Michael Jordan was likely a publicity stunt, as she allegedly hired a publicist before even contacting a lawyer.
The son in question, who goes by Taj Jordan, posted a YouTube video that claimed he was the love child of Michael Jordan. This clip was posted online months before the paternity lawsuit was filed. Per TMZ, Taj was actually the one who convinced Pamela Smith to file the suit against Michael Jordan.
"Pamela had no choice but to support her son and his desire to forge a relationship with his father," Smith's publicist, April Love, said in a statement at the time. "That's why she is now speaking out and prompting Michael to do the right thing."
Considering how Michael Jordan's last paternity lawsuit ended, we have reason to be skeptical of Laquetta Theus' claims. She, too, may just be trying to take advantage of the NBA legend. Unless she can produce actual proof, we doubt Michael Jordan fathered this alleged love child.
