Amber Riley went straight to the top of the leaderboard Monday night on Dancing with the Stars scoring nine's from all three of the judges. "Everything was a blur," Riley told Access Hollywood after her triumphant debut. "I didn't see anything. I don't even remember what happened!"

Riley and her partner Derek Hough performed a rousing cha cha number, but Riley said her Fox TV show prepared her well for DWTS. "Glee is more grueling [than] DWTS. Trust me," Riley said. Although the 27-year-old did admit she expects Dancing to get harder for her in the coming weeks. "DWTS is live and it's one take, so this is eventually going to be harder. On Glee, there's cutaways, a take two ... 11 other people distracting your bad dancing. If you forget something, they can edit it out."

Hough, who won DWTS last season will Kellie Pickler, told Us Weekly that Riley surpassed any expectations he may have had. "I saw right away she was really good at maintaining the things I was teaching her. She would come in the next day and have retained that information," Hough said. "We were able to get better and better. I'm going to whoop her a** now!"

Even more so than learning how to dance, Riley said she had a different motive for joining the hit reality competition. "I wanted girls to know and I wanted to encourage some girls to move, get out there and move and dance," the Glee star told AH. "I've gotten older. I'm 27 now and I had health issues earlier this year that caused me to really pay attention to what I was eating. ... And I just started exercising more and I started eating better and I just want to encourage girls ... I'm not trying to be a certain size, but I do want to live a long time."

Riley also admitted that seeing her Glee friends such as Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz in the audience also pumped her up."[Seeing them] gave me a lot of energy because my whole entire family was out there also," Riley said. "They were in front of me [while I danced]. I asked them not to sit there and they did anyway!"

They were just supporting their girl! Check out whether Riley can keep the lead next Monday on DWTS airing at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
