Today is the 12-year anniversary of the infamous 9/11 Twin Towers terrorist attack that touched the American people in a way no other event has since the bombing of Pearl Harbor. On that day, September 11, 2011, four planes were hijacked by al-Qaeda terrorists and flown into significant American buildings in terrorist suicide attacks. American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, causing them to collapse. Another plane, American Airline flight 77, crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, DC while the fourth crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after brave passengers aboard the plane decided to stand against the hijackers.

Though multiple terrifying events took place that day, the Twin Towers terrorist attack, however, has been what Americans remember most fervently as the NYC skyline has never been the same since the tragedy that took so many innocent civilian lives. Brave men and women of the NYC police and fire department worked tirelessly on 9/11, rescuing survivors of the Twin Towers terrorist attack. We will never forget the sacrifices they made for the American people. Even with 12 years passing since the Twin Towers attack, we still pause to remember that day and to be mindful of the precious gift freedom is.

There were many memorable images and video clips that emerged during and after the Twin Towers terror attack on September 11, 2001. Many videos paid tribute to the lives lost that day. One video that receives an unbelievable number of views each September 11, is the Budweiser 9/11 commercial that aired only once at the Super Bowl, featuring the classic Budweiser Clydesdales and an altered NYC skyline — sans the Twin Towers destroyed in the terrorist attack.

In addition, many recall President George W. Bush's bullhorn speech about 9/11 and Buckingham Palace's honoring of our country by playing the American National Anthem after the Twin Towers were attacked by terrorists.

These videos plus a thousand other tales of 9/11 survivors and their memories are what the American people look to each September to remind themselves and their offspring that freedom is never free.
