A source close to the young couple told reporters that Rihanna was looking to start a family with Brown in the future. But when she let her feelings be known to the "Fine China" star, he blew the situation out of proportion.

"She told him she loved him and could see herself starting a family with him in the future," the source told Hollywood Life. "She wasn't talking like, right now."

Adding insult to injury, shortly after Brown took to The Kyle & Jackie O radio show on May 5 to tell listeners how he was only focused on seeing "as many girls as possible" for his birthday, and how his relationship with the "Stay" singer wasn't as serious as previously thought.

"I'm going to do it solo," Brown said to the radio show. "At the end of the day, [she's] already doing her thing, she's on the road..."

Brown concluded his explanation of his split with Rihanna by saying, "The way I look at it is, I'm always going to love that person, but people have differences, and people have different wants and needs.

"At the end of the day she's a young girl. I can't really be focused on wife-ing somebody that young — and I'm young too," he said.

According to a close friend of Rihanna's, the interview left the "Diamonds" singer feeling broken. "When my girl tell you she loves you and wants to be serious with you and start a real life you and maybe even have your baby in the future, you turn her down, and then put her on blast on a radio show," the source confessed. "That's all bad. Like game over."

It appears, however, that Rihanna has ultimately come to terms with who Brown is. "But that's all over and done with," the source stated. "No love lost for her. She knows who the f**k he really is and that's cool. She'll always love him, she'll always care for him but she's not going back to that."
