Leah Remini more recently made a public split with the Church of Scientology. She made further headlines when she filed a missing persons report for Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige. The police later called Remini's concern "unfounded."
"I believe that people should be able to question things," Remini told PEOPLE.com last month. "I believe that people should value family, and value friendships, and hold those things sacrosanct. That for me, that's what I'm about. It wouldn't matter what it was, simply because no one is going to tell me how I need to think, no one is going to tell me who I can, and cannot, talk to."
TMZ also has the names of several other people reportedly joining Dancing with the Stars Season 17. Surprisingly, the list actually includes several famous celebrities. Reality star Snooki from Jersey Shore will supposedly try to outlast her co-star, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, who previously appeared on the program.
Another staple of Dancing with the Stars is a current or former NFL athlete. Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson, Emmitt Smith and Hines Ward are just some of the football players who have traded their cleats for ballroom shoes, with the latter two taking home the Mirror Ball Trophy on their respective seasons.
Per TMZ, former wideout and current ESPN analyst Keyshawn Johnson will be the next person to join that list. The former New York Jet made headlines earlier this year for his alleged argument with Justin Bieber after Johnson supposedly caught the teen star speeding in their neighborhood.
Another interesting name on TMZ's list is Amber Riley. The Glee actress' casting on Dancing with the Stars would be somewhat odd, since her series airs on a rival network. But she would get to show the moves she learned on her show while also likely paying tribute to her fallen co-star, Cory Monteith.
Speaking of rival shows, Dancing with the Stars will also reportedly cast Christina Milan for Season 17. The singer more recently served as the social media correspondent for NBC's The Voice, which airs opposite DWTS. But Milan announced earlier this year that she was leaving the program to focus on her music. It's possible her real reason for quitting was to join DWTS, where she certainly would be able to promote her new album.
UPDATE: TMZ now reports that Valerie Harper will be part of the Dancing with the Stars Season 17 cast as well. The actress was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer earlier this year. Harper will reportedly be partnered with fan-favorite Tristan MacManus.
It should be clear that none of these Dancing with the Stars casting rumors have been confirmed. The official announcement will come Sept. 4 on Good Morning America.
