Bachelor star Gia Allemand died on Wednesday. She was 29 years old.
The brunette beauty, best known for appearing on Season 14 of the ABC reality show Bachelor and Season 1 of The Bachelor Pad, was taken to University Hospital in New Orleans on Monday night where she was put on life support.
Allemand was listed in critical condition following a serious medical event, according to sources. TMZ has reported that Allemand committed suicide. Several minutes prior to reporting the devastating cause of death, TMZ was told by "multiple people close to Gia" that the Bachelor star had been "extremely upset about a rocky relationship" with her boyfriend Ryan Anderson, an NBA player of The New Orleans Pelicans.
The Bachelor star was reportedly with her mother and longtime boyfriend at the time of her death.
A close friend of Allemand, Melida Farina, tweeted that she was concerned when the reality star was admitted to the hospital.
"@GiaAllemand is on life support w little pulse and barely breathing ..cause unknown ..next 48 hours critical please pray for Gia everyone," she said continued. "I'm so sad about my best friend right now...how could this have happened to such an incredible person..she needs to come out of it!"
Allemand's friend said that she would keep "everyone posted" if she heard anything further. "Right now it's not good-we all need to stay positive though she's tiny but strong."
That's when the Twitterverse was flooded with well-wishes from former Bachelor stars:
