Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were no-shows at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday. The former lovers failed to attend up despite their film The Twilight Saga; Breaking Dawn — Part 2 winning seven surfboards.
Both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson won Teen Choice Awards as Choice Movie Actress and Actor in a Romance, while the film itself won Choice Movie: Romance and Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Stewart won Choice Actress in the latter category as well, but Pattinson was beat out for Choice Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy by his Twilight co-star, Taylor Lautner.
Ironically, the former lovers were also nominated for Choice Movie Liplock. While this award is usually one of the most anticipated of the evening, it was not even mentioned on Sunday night's broadcast. It still is unclear whether Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson won the title. But if they did, it would explain why the announcement was strangely cut from the broadcast.
We're also not sure why Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson skipped the Teen Choice Awards, especially since this was the last year the Twilight films will be honored. But they likely did not want any awkward encounters with each other, especially since they each seem to be moving on with their lives.
The night before the Teen Choice Awards, Pattinson was spotted at an after party with actress Michelle Rodriguez. The two were also reportedly together at the Chateau Marmont on July 24, though it is unclear if they are actually dating.
Kristen Stewart, meanwhile, was photographed in an obscene hat alongside her Camp X-Ray co-star, Lane Garrison. But while this might lead to rumors that the actors are dating, Stewart is reportedly focused on her work for the time being.
"Kristen is so committed to the role that she wants to stay in character," a source said. "Not 100 percent, but she admires how Daniel Day-Lewis actually embodies the roles he plays. She is putting her all into this film. She says it's the most complex role she's ever played so far. She listens to music that she thinks her character would listen to. She has different techniques to help her channel the character."
Of course, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson famously dated on and off for three years before calling it quits in May. Pattinson reportedly could never get over Stewart's infamous cheating incident last year, when she was caught making out with Rupert Sanders, the married director of Stewart's film, Snow White and the Huntsman. With all of this history between Stewart and Pattinson, it may have been a good thing the couple skipped the Teen Choice Awards this year.
