So who is Amanda Dufner? Dufner, born Amanda Boyd, was introduced to her future husband by a mutual friend. At the time, Jason Dufner was already playing on the PGA tour, while Boyd was still a student at the University of Alabama. Ironically, Dufner attended Auburn University, Alabama's biggest rival.

After the first date, the couple stayed in touch but could not meet in person because of Dufner's hectic schedule. But, as fate would have it, the two ran into each other in New Orleans on New Years' Eve and remained close from that point forward.

By 2010, Boyd was hoping that Dufner would propose to her. A friend even revealed to her that Dufner had already bought the ring. "I had been planning to propose in early 2011, while we were in Hawaii," Dufner said. "But I found out Amanda knew I had the ring, so the element of surprise was gone. Then my schedule got really busy, and I couldn't find a time to make it special. Until July."

During the weekend of July 4, Dufner was in Philadelphia for a golf tournament. However, he missed the cut, giving him time to plan the perfect proposal.

"We took a train to New York and had dinner at STK, our favorite restaurant, before going to a rooftop bar overlooking the Hudson River," Amanda Dufner said. "We were watching the fireworks over the river and when I turned around, Jason was on one knee. I don't really remember much after that, only that I was bawling and complete strangers were applauding, snapping pictures and buying us drinks."

Jason and Amanda Dufner's nuptials took place at Fountainview Mansion in Auburn. Amanda Dufner wore a Judd Waddell dress with a purple sash during the ceremony before switching to a more comfortable Heidi Elnora gown for the reception. Fittingly, the cocktail hour included a putt-putt course for guests. You can check out photos and a video of the wedding here!

People have wondered how an ordinary-looking guy like Jason Dufner snagged his wife, Amanda. But based on her husband's play this weekend at the PGA Championship, she made a solid choice. Dufner tied a major record by shooting 63 on Friday, giving him momentum for the weekend. His victory also erased bad memories of the same tournament two years ago, when he blew a five-shot lead with four holes left and lost to Keegan Bradley.

In fact, Jason Dufner was so excited by his major victory that he couldn't resist giving Amanda a pat on the behind following his winning putt. A GIF of that moment has quickly gone viral. Check it out here.

Jason Dufner also went viral without his wife earlier this year, when Bradley posted the above photo of the golfer sitting with his legs out and his arms rigidly at his side. The "Dufnering" meme quickly took the Internet by storm, with fans posting their own versions of the picture. The craze picked up steam once again following Jason Dufner's major victory.
