The couple was arrested last week on 39 counts of fraud. The allegations include bank fraud, bankruptcy fraud, and lying on loan applications. Joe Giudice was also charged with failure to file tax returns for five years. Both Joe and Teresa could go to jail for 50 years if convicted.
Still, despite these charges, Teresa Giudice does not seem worried. Both she and her husband believe that this case will take a while to get through the court system, which could be to their benefit.
"She has watched how Joe's fraud case and been pushed back for months and months and she is telling people that she believes that is going to happen with this case too," a source said. "They know this is going to get dragged out for a really long time and they're happy about that."
Indeed, Teresa Giudice is not letting these fraud allegations stop her from having a good time. Just a few days after her arrest, the reality star posted photos of herself and fellow Housewives star Dina Manzo hanging out at a Hamptons beach. Joe Giudice joined her on the vacation, though it may be about as far from home as they can go for the time being. The couple reportedly had to turn in their passports and are not allowed to travel anywhere outside of New York or New Jersey.
The reality star also attended an awards ceremony on Wednesday, where she posed for pictures. Teresa Guidice reportedly told photographer Lora Warnick that she would not let the arrest stop her from living her life.
"[She] didn't seem depressed at all," Warnick said.
Teresa's Giudice's relaxed attitude may also stem from the fact that she thinks she is being targeted.
"Teresa thinks people are coming after her because she is famous," another source said. "She honestly thinks she has done nothing wrong."
