Is Raven Symone marrying her girlfriend AzMarie Livingston? The That's So Raven star allegedly decided to come out on Twitter over the weekend with a tweet about the legalization of gay marriage, which many believe was Symone admitting she was gay herself and planning to marry Livingston. Symone has made it a point to not speak publicly about her personal life or alleged relationship with Livingston, a former contestant on America's Next Top Model. This left many of her Twitter fans surprised that the former Cosby Show actress may have admitted being gay and planning to marry Livingston
"I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you," the actress tweeted on August 2. Many believed that the tweet was an admission that Symone is gay, but reps for the That's So Raven star denied the gay rumors or that she is planning to marry a woman. "She was just supporting the fact that she heard on NPR that more states legalized gay marriage today," the actress' reps said. They also added a personal statement from Symone regarding her position on gay marriage: "I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted."
Symone continued to say that despite her excitement "to hear more states legalize gay marriage," that she is not currently one of those who will donning a white dress in the near future. "I, however am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to," she said.
Her Twitter fans were overwhelming accepting of her gay marriage message. "It's been known she's a lesbian for a while. It was just no one else's business," tweeted Duke E. Brown @hotterthanJuly. Chris Coleman @BlakesDynasty tweeted: "This changes nothing at all. I still love her! #loveislove."
Symone has been dodging gay rumors for the last several years, and there was speculation last year that the actress was living in NYC with Livingston. However, Symone took to Twitter in May 2012 and told people to mind their own business. "My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I'm datings to know," she tweeted. "I'm not one for a public display of my life,"
Symone is also known for her child star role as Olivia on The Cosby Show, as well as starring in movies like The Cheetah Girls and College Road Trip. She most recently starred last year as Deloris van Cartier in the Broadway version of Sister Act.
