Season 4 of Duck Dynasty has already made headlines following the news that Alan Robertson, also known as the beardless brother of the family, would be joining the cast. The former minister will become the Beards and Beauty Wrangler of the business, Duck Commander.
"What I do for our church — you see, it's a pretty good-sized church — impacts a lot of people, but because of my association with the show, I'll get to minister to a lot more people," he said following the announcement. "Any person that's an evangelist, that's what you want to do, so I had to give this up for something possibly bigger."
But Alan Robertson got in a more traditional sermon on Sunday, when he spoke about the troubles his father, Phil Robertson, had with alcohol. Robertson told the crowd that religion helped save his dad and made him realize his true purpose in life.
"When he became a Christian, it's like the blinders came off and there was clarity and a vision and out of that vision, he wanted to build a duck call," Alan Robertson said. "He said, 'I want to build a duck call that sounds like a duck more than anything else,' and the first Duck Commander duck call was built."

Phil Robertson, meanwhile, spent part of his sermon talking about Jesus and why even non-believers should accept him.
"He was here," Phil Robertson said. "He did die. And He was buried. And He was raised from the dead. There's hope to get off the planet alive."

Duck Dynasty, which has become one of the most popular series on television, will return on Wednesday, August 14. Last season's finale averaged 9.6 million viewers and had a 4.3 rating. Those numbers were high enough to beat a new episode of the former juggernaut American Idol.
For a time, it was unclear if there would even be a new season of Duck Dynasty. The cast was mired in a salary dispute, as the Robertson family hoped to garner raises following the show's success. The Robertsons were apparently hoping for over $200,000 per episode.
We are not sure whether they got what they wanted. But, considering the massive success the show has become, we would not be surprised if they did.
