Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are back together, having bonded while working on the new X-Men movie in Canada and subsequently restarting their romance.
Lawrence and Hoult previously dated for two years before announcing their split in January 2013, citing hectic work schedules as the cause, but their time spent together on-set has apparently rekindled the relationship. "They started the shoot in April as friends, and then one day they just started kissing," a source told Us Weekly. "One thing led to another and they hooked up," the insider added.
Lawrence, 22, plays sexy villainess Mystique in the newest installment of the successful franchise, while boyfriend Hoult, 23, plays a mutant named Hank McCoy who tries to cure himself of a mutation that gave him superhero strength. "All her old feelings came rushing back," a source said of Lawrence when she reconnected with Hoult. "Now they're fully back on."
Rumors that Lawrence and Hoult's relationship was back on began when the two were spotted having lunch together on a near-daily basis. Hoult also joined Lawrence and her family on an outing in Montreal on June 2, adding to speculation that the one-time couple had decided to mend their relationship. It comes as little surprise that Lawrence and Hoult decided to repair the relationship given the fact that the Hunger Games star has been open about her adoration for her actor beau.
"[My boyfriend] is honestly my best friend, and hopefully I'm his best friend too," Lawrence told Elle in November before the couple split. "He's my favorite person to be around and makes me laugh harder than anybody," she gushed. The girls' girl revealed the ease of her and Hoult's relationship, explaining that they are completely comfortable discussing anything.
"We can eat Cheetos and watch beach volleyball and we turn into two perverted Homer Simpsons, like, 'Oh, she's got a nice ass.' I never thought we'd have such different opinions on asses," Lawrence joked. Their camaraderie was so strong, in fact, that it remained strong even after the breakup. Hoult even congratulated his ex on her Oscar win, openly discussing his excitement.
"I'm very, very happy for her," Hoult said of Lawrence's Oscar win. "I'm thrilled," the actor added, saying her was "very proud" of his then-ex-girlfriend's incredible success.
