"YES, me [and] nick are engaged," Bobbi Kristina announced on Facebook. "I'm tired of hearing people say 'eww your engaged to your brother or if Whitney was alive would we be together or would she approve of this,'" Houston's daughter lamented. Bobbi Kristina then attempted to disprove the widely held notion that she and her new fiancé are brother and sister.

"Let me clear something up, we aren't even real brother and sister nor is he my adoptive brother. My mom never adopted him," Bobbi Kristina insisted before delivering a shocking revelation. "My mommy was the one who even said that she knew that we were going to start dating," Bobbi Kristina said. Yet despite the 20-year-old's claims that her mom approved of the romance, many critics suspected the troubled girl was rebelling as she spun out of control following Houston's death.

"I think it has to do a lot with the family not liking Nick, considering he was a godson and then they became a couple. I'm sure there is a lot of, 'Would Whitney be O.K. with this?' going around," a source said when the relationship began. Bobbi Kristina and Gordon have had their fair share of ups and downs despite their evident bond, and even broke off a previous engagement in late 2012. "[Bobbi Kristina] and I are not engaged or dating. Just close like we have always been," Gordon tweeted when he announced the breakup.

Bobbi Kristina, however, has acknowledged the speculation that the relationship is unhealthy during her engagement speech. "People need to seriously stop judging my relationship. Yes, my relationship may not be perfect. We will have rough patches, just like every other relationship," Houston's daughter explained. "You may or may not agree with my relationship. You may or may not respect it. Your opinions are yours and mine are mine," Bobbi Kristina explained.

Bobbi Kristina was likely sending a message to her family, and presumably her 79-year-old grandmother Cissy Houston in particular. Cissy essentially called the initial engagement incest, and subsequently seized control of a $20 million inheritance from Whitney Houston's estate. Ultimately the decision was overturned, but the familial tension will likely escalate with news of the wedding plans.

Yet in spite of it all, Bobbi Kristina is adamant that she is making the right decision in marrying Nick Gordon. "The decisions I make have nothing to do with you," the future Mrs. Gordon insisted.
