Chris Pratt — or should we say Chris Six-Pack — has been looking mighty fine since he started working out for his upcoming role in the flick Guardians of the Galaxy. According to reports the 34-year-old husband of Anna Faris, who is best known for his hysterical role in Parks And Rec, is putting aside his inner-comedian for a serious character in the action movie where he'll play the leading role of Star Lord (the half-human, half-alien leader of a bio engineered team of space heroes).

"Six months no beer," Pratt captioned a steamy, shirtless picture of himself explaining what he did to turn flab into abs. "Kinda douchey to post this, but my brother made me," he added. The down-to-earth actor is no stranger to gaining and losing weight for roles. "I just like to gain weight and lose weight," Pratt told Vulture in September. "It's a roller coaster. I just want to do this."

Pratt had previously dropped a serious amount of weight for his Navy SEAL role in Zero Dark Thirty where he displayed a more buff physique than the one we've gotten used to. "I've always been a little soft. I like to eat," the star quipped to Conan O'Brien regarding his fuller figure.

So what is Pratt's secret to gaining muscle? "I worked out really hard and I cut out everything bad for me for a long time and I just focused on trying to become a believable Navy SEAL. I had about five to six months and I really busted my ass to get in shape," Pratt explained his workout regime for Zero Dark Thirty. But this time around Pratt has been asked to ease up on the weight training in order to get a leaner frame for Guardians of the Galaxy. "His training is intense," a source told US Weekly. "They liked his body in Zero Dark Thirty but they want this character to be lean — very lean — so he's eating a lot less and doing 'two-a-days' as they call them, workout-wise."

Pratt's dedication has definitely paid off but it might have cost him his chubbier role in the beloved NBC series. "You CANNOT return to Pawnee like that!" his co-star Rob Lowe joked to him on Twitter responding to the revealing photo.

We have to admit; we're pretty impressed with Pratt's self discipline! What do you think of his new found physique? Let us know in the comments section below!
