The last episode of Big Brother 15 featured the first live eviction of the season. Head of Household McCrae Olson had originally placed Jessie Kowalski and Candice Stewart up for elimination, with the first fan-voted MVP, Elissa Slater, picking David Girton as the third nominee in order to get on McCrae's good side. McCrae's early alliance, The Moving Company, had targeted David for elimination, as he was the one athletic male who was not part of their group.
However, McCrae then won the Power of Veo competition and decided to swap out Candice for Elissa. Most assumed that the latter would be the target for eviction, as the other houseguests were suspicious of her after she hid the fact that she was the sister of former Big Brother winner Rachel Reilly. However, Judd Daughtery and the members of The Moving Company realized it would be prudent to use Elissa's fan popularity to their advantage if she won MVP again. Instead, the group blindsided David, eliminating him by a 7-5 vote.
David's elimination was particularly hard on Aaryn Gries, who had developed an early showmance with the lifeguard. However, Aaryn has bigger problems on her hands, as both she and GinaMarie Zimmerman have lost their jobs as a result of racist comments they have made inside the Big Brother house. Other contestants, meanwhile, have come under fire for their misogynistic and homophobic comments.
Some, including former contestant Ragan Fox, have urged CBS to air the offending remarks in question, particularly since the fan-voted MVP is such a major part of the season. However, so far all the network has done is issue a generic statement on the matter.
"Big Brother is a reality show about watching a group of people who have no privacy 24/7 - and seeing every moment of their lives," the statement said. "At times, the houseguests reveal prejudices and other beliefs that we do not condone. We certainly find the statements made by several of the houseguests on the live Internet feed to be offensive. Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by a houseguest appearing on Big Brother, either on any live feed from the house or during the broadcast, are those of the individual(s) speaking and do not represent the views or opinions of CBS or the producers of the program."
The last episode of Big Brother 15 did show Aaryn in a negative light, however, as she drank all the red wine after the other houseguests had agreed to wait until the Have-Nots emerged from their week of sleeping in the airport-themed room. This scene may have been enough to prevent the former model from winning MVP this season.
However, Aaryn and the other Big Brother 15 houseguests could still win Head of Household. At the end of the last episode, the remaining contestants split into duos and competed to carry a small cup of barbecue sauce across a slippery floor. The first duo to fill the giant jar with sauce would get to pick one member of that twosome to be the next Head of Household. We will find out the winner of that contest tonight, but if you want to know ahead of time, you can read the spoilers here.
