Kate Stoltzfus has truly broken some new ground by becoming the first Amish woman ever to pose for Maxim magazine! Stoltzfus, the star of TLC reality show Breaking Amish, underwent a drastic makeover for the magazine and ditched her Amish bonnet for some skimpy clothes. Stoltzfus ditched her Amish community and moved to NYC to pursue a modeling career, which is chronicled on Breaking Amish, and the Maxim photo shoot is her biggest spread to date.
Stripped down to a bustier and short-shorts in the new issue of Maxim, Stoltzfus said there are plenty of beautiful women in the Amish community who could also pose for the magazine if they desired. "There are definitely a lot of Amish women who have great bodies, because they work hard," said Stoltzfus. "They also eat really healthy, since they grow their own food. That's one big thing I miss about home, being able to garden and take care of plants."
Stoltzfus has been starting to make her modeling dreams by signing with a modeling agency on the series finale of Breaking Amish and said she is getting used to wearing clothing that shows more skin. "Before I had even signed a contract with a modeling agency, I did a test shoot to see if I could photograph well, and the first outfit they put me in was a bathing suit!" Stoltzfus told Maxim. "I have to admit it was a little intimidating, but now I enjoy doing it."
The Breaking Amish star provided arguably the most memorable moment of the show by telling her family that she was leaving her Amish community to move to NYC. Stoltzfus was shunned by her entire family; her mother and brothers refused to see her, while her father told her that she would go to hell if she continued her ways. The upcoming season of the show, entitled Breaking Amish: LA, will debut on July 21, chronicling Stoltzfus and her fellow cast members as she adjusts to her new life.
Of course, Stoltzfus has had her share of critics and controversy in recent months; sources accused the Breaking Amish star of having not been Amish for years. They allege that Stolzfus had been driving a car, dressing non-Amish and working at a Ruby Tuesday's in the Pennsylvania town of Lebanon. She also entered a Best Smile contest in August 2010 on modeling website exploretalent.com and posted a photo for it, but the photo has since been removed.
It was also revealed on Breaking Amish that Stoltzfus had a D.U.I. in Florida in April 2012, one month before the show started filming, exposing the bogus storyline that she had never left her community before moving to NYC. Stoltzfus later said she only briefly left her Amish community before, calling the D.U.I. a "really bad decision and a huge mistake."
