Porsha Stewart is the latest housewife to lose her house, after a judge overseeing the Real Housewivesof Atlanta star's divorce from Kordell Stewart ruled in his favor, forcing her to move out.
Porsha lost a huge battle to her former NFL player ex when a judge made her move out of her Georgia house. The football star was awarded with temporary exclusive rights to the house he shared with the housewife during their marriage, despite the fact that Porsha had asked the court to allow her to stay. Porsha initially took Kordell to court on claims that he changed the locks to their Atlanta home, and lamented that she had nowhere else to live.
Yet, after Porsha was awarded a sizable $5,000 per month alimony from Kordell, the court ruled in her ex's favor. Kordell must pay Porsha for the next three months, and will have to pay for her moving costs and storage units during the transition. The former Pittsburgh Steeler was likely furious over court orders to pay Porsha alimony and expenses after he initially argued that she was able to earn an income.
"[Porsha's] an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself," Kordell charged in divorce documents. Porsha said she continued to live with her ex because there was no prenup agreement. "It's a difficult situation right now. It's something I did not want at all," Porsha said about the unpleasant living situation. "I didn't say we speak and I didn't say I'm cookin'. Ain't no eggs and bacon and ham hocks no mo'," Porsha said.
Porsha's co-host Kenya Moore was also recently forced to leave her Atlanta home after her landlord asked a judge to evict her after failing to pay her rent in full. Kenya staunchly denied allegations by her "crazy" landlord, explaining that she paid the woman more than what she owed. "I have paid her May rent and paid her June, and my lease is up in three weeks," Kenya argued. "So this whole thing is absolutely ridiculous," she added before revealing her theory behind the eviction scandal.
"Now it gets a little complicated, but she's taking her ex-husband back to court," Kenya said about her landlord. "I can't help it if I live a fabulous life and she can no longer afford to be in the house," the outspoken housewife said, insinuating that the eviction was fueled by jealousy.
Although both Housewives of Atlanta stars share similar housing statuses they don't have much more in common, having clashed on the Bravo series. Yet, following news of Porsha's blindsided divorce, Kenya offered her condolences and wished her well. "It's no secret that Porsha and I have had our differences. However, I would never want to see anyone go through pain or suffering such as in divorce," Kenya said. "I do wish Porsha well and know she will do what is best for her."
