Kickasstorrents domain, Kat.ph, went down on Thursday after it was confirmed that Philippine authorities seized the website which was founded in 2008. Now fans of the Kickass torrent site are yearning for two very important answers:
1. Why was everyone's beloved Kat.ph seized by Philippine officials?
2. Where can fans of Kickass Torrent facilitate peer-to-peer file sharing now?
Well, to answer question number one first Torrentfreak.com explained that the reason Philippine authorities seized Kickass Torrents was due to a complaint from a local record label that claimed that the largest torrent site on the Web was causing "irreparable damages" to the music industry.
"The complaint alleges that the registrant of KAT.ph is violating intellectual property rights by making copyrighted music available for download to its users," the dotPH registry told TorrentFreak.
Millions of Kickass torrent visitors became frantic after learning that their favorite torrent site on the Internet had disappeared. But KickassTorrent reassured Kat.ph fans that the website would be up and running very soon.
"We have an unexpected maintenance. KAT will be online very soon."

The "unexpected maintenance" KickassTorrent is referring to is the Government of the Philippines seizing the website on copyright grounds. "The complaint alleges that the registrant of KAT.ph is violating intellectual property rights by making copyrighted music available for download to its users," the dotPH registry informed TorrentFreak.
But despite the seize soon the savvy Kat.ph found a loophole to provide torrents to its dedicated users. "As some of you know, kat.ph doesn't work. Please use https://kickass.to (it's safe). The kat.ph has been taken down cause Philippines suddenly seized our domain," administration of KickassTorent said.
Kickass.to is currently Kat.ph's new torrent website that features Movies, TV, Games, Music, Anime and Books. If you're looking for Kanye West's leaked "Yeezus" album or the live stream of Pretty Little Liar's Season 4 Premiere than Kickass.to is your new destination website!
Will this be the last domain name change that KickassTorrents will have to make? Possibly not. In February of 2013 Internet service providers in the United Kingdom were ordered by the High Court in London to block KickassTorrents, along with two other torrent sites. According to reports Judge Richard Arnold ruled that Kat.ph's design contributed to copyright infringement. So if by any chance KickassTorrents does disappear a second time here are some other torrent options for you:
