"A Mega Millions jackpot advertised at $190 million has been won by two tickets, one sold in New Jersey, the other in Virginia. They matched all six Mega Millions winning numbers drawn Friday night: 11, 15, 35, 43 and 49, with a Mega Ball of 41. Winners usually take the cash payout, which in this case would be $70 million each. Before taxes, of course," Philly.com reported.

"This is beyond water cooler talk,'' Iowa Lottery spokeswoman, Mary Neubauer, said. "Everyone wants a shot at it. When jackpots get to this level, we see sales three to four times normal. The universe of players expands to occasional players and a lot of first-timers jumping in."

Director of public relations for the Michigan Lottery, Andi Brancato, said that when the jackpot gets this big, numbers as well as interest continues to grow rapidly.

The executive director of the Multi-State Lottery Association, Chuck Strutt, explained that the lesser of the Powerball jackpot prizes include a $1 million and $2 million dollar lottery ticket.
