Leonardo DiCaprio has always kept his relationships with supermodels and actresses private, so when The Great Gatsby star talked about getting married, it came as a huge, albeit exciting, surprise.
DiCaprio, the hottest man in town, was swarmed by media on the red carpet for The Great Gatsby premiere, and when asked about marriage, the handsome actor had an unexpected reply. "I take it as it comes. We'll see what happens in the future. I don't try to determine what the future will be," DiCaprio told Extra. "I take it day by day."
Although DiCaprio's marriage response was a bit vague, it definitely signaled that the eligible bachelor is open to the idea of settling down. His latest marriage remarks support prior sentiments the actor expressed in a 2008 interview. "I want to get married and have children," DiCaprio told People. "In saying that, I realize I am contradicting everything I've said before. I absolutely believe in marriage."
DiCaprio has seen his share of gorgeous girlfriends, including Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Bar Refaeli, Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively, and even supermodel Gisele Bundchen, but apparently none of his exes have been marriage-material in the eyes of the gorgeous actor.
The Titanic star recently revealed that his busy career is to blame for his frequently failing relationships. "Six months of being on location or being off in Morocco or someplace like that is not the best thing for a relationship," DiCaprio told Esquire.
So will a hiatus from acting be what it takes for DiCaprio to snag a wife? The actor revealed that he plans to take time off from the silver screen following his Gatsby and The Wolf on Wall Street debuts. "To me, right now it's about getting a little breather, getting some time off," DiCaprio told US Weekly. "Not a permanent break or not an indefinite period, but you know, just a few months to do some other things."
Despite his plans to put his film career on pause, DiCaprio said he is absolutely grateful for his acting success. "I have absolutely nothing to complain about," he said. "There's a certain price to everything, but every time I listen to myself talk about those prices I get sick to my stomach because I'm so fortunate to do what I do. Really, I'm a lucky person," DiCaprio explained.
