Last week on Project Runway Season 11, Episode 13, ‘Finale, Part 1,’ the final four designers - Daniel, Michelle, Patricia and Stanley - journeyed home to create a fall collection for New York Fashion Week. Each designer was awarded a budget of $10,000 and allowed five months to design a collection consisting of 12 cohesive looks. Heidi Klum reminded the remaining four contestants that “now is not the time to rest on your laurels,” and Tim Gunn reiterated that “any one of you could win this!”

On Project Runway, ‘Finale, Part 1,” the designers, while preparing for their fall fashion week debut, received a hometown visit from mentor Tim Gunn, who critiqued the progress of their collections. Visiting Patricia in Taos, New Mexico, Tim Gunn advised her to refrain from her typically literal interpretations. No more arts and crafts for Patricia! In Portland, Gunn met Michelle’s family, and urged the “dicey” designer to keep her collection simple. Moving on to Daniel’s studio in Austin, Texas, Gunn seemed to find favor with the designer’s surrealist inspiration. Finally, Tim Gunn graced Stanley with his good advice in Los Angeles, telling him to pair down his opulent and dramatic pieces. Four months later, following Tim Gunn’s feedback, the final four designers returned to New York to put the finishing touches on their three-piece Fall 2013 ensembles.

In the first part of Project Runway’s two-part finale, the remaining designers, now back in New York, were paired up with a former Project Runway contestant, who was to serve as sewing support. Luckily, Patricia escaped Layana’s clutches, and, in a surprising turn of events, we found out that the Brazilian-born designer is expecting a baby boy this fall.

On Project Runway Season 11, Episode 13, ‘Finale, Part 1,’ Stanley and Daniel’s collections possessed similar problematic issues. According to the Project Runway judges, Stanley’s 70s-inspired design missed out on the modern elements of today’s woman, and Daniel’s stingray textile lacked sophistication. Overall, the Project Runway judges felt that Daniel and Stanley both debuted rather dated collections without any particular point of view. Although Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn were sad to see him go, Klum told Daniel that his collection just wasn’t “special” enough, and so the Texan talent was sent home.

SPOILER ALERT

Tonight, on Project Runway Season 11, Episode 14, “Finale, Part 2,” Michelle, Patricia and Stanley compete to become the show’s season 11 winner. In the second part of the season finale, Michael Kors returns to take his seat on the Project Runway judging panel.

So which designer will be Project Runway’s 11th winner? Our bets are on Stanley. While Michelle’s creative streak has seen success lately, Stanley has never been in the bottom three. Patricia would certainly be the most interesting Project Runway winner, but we’re pretty sure Stanley’s got it in the bag.
