Last week on Project Runway Season 11, Episode 10 “The Art of Fashion”, Tim Gunn took the designers to the Guggenheim Museum to gather ideas for their upcoming challenge. Once there, the remaining six contestants were divided into three new teams consisting of Stanley and Michelle, Richard and Patricia, and Daniel and Layana. Each team was tasked with creating a textile print on their HP computers, which would then be used to create two distinct designs – one inspired by avant-garde art, the other by RTW collections. Evaluating the designing duos’ dual outfits were guest judges Tracy Reese and Rachel Roy.
Project Runway’s Season 11, Episode 10 had, as usual, its weekly dose of drama. Richard proved himself a liability to his partner Patricia’s textile expertise, while Layana, in an emotional breakdown, lashed out at Daniel and accused him of betrayal. Stanley and Michelle, on the other hand, got on famously, pushing the boundaries in their “spiraling out of control” concept and causing Nina Garcia to smile at their RTW creation.
Stanley Hudson emerged as the winner of Project Runway Episode 10’s challenge and was unanimously applauded for his RTW look. Patricia and Richard were the episode’s unlucky losers. After landing on the bottom for the fourth time, Heidi Klum finally deemed it time to tell Richard that he was “out.”
Tonight, on Project Runway Season 11, Episode 11 “Finally on My Own”, the team concept is dropped, leaving the remaining five designers to display their signature aesthetics in looks created for the episode’s guest judge, Jordana Brewster. In the preview, Tim Gunn warns the designers that they have a surprise in store, which we soon find out is the return of Richard. The designers, particularly Patricia, are visibly rattled by the news of this blast from the past.
On Project Runway, Season 11, Episode 11, the stakes are raised as the final five designers battle it out to see who will land in one of the world’s largest fashion magazines. In the preview, Michelle seems confident that she will make the cut, but when the camera catches Heidi saying “not so much”, we’re left to wonder whether Michelle has counted her couture too soon.
