Kate Winslet's divorce from Sam Mendes is in the news today, spurring questions yet again about whether Mendes cheated with actress Rebecca Hall when he was married to Winslet. Kate Winslet opened up to Harper's Bazaar U.K. about the divorce and her subsequent self-discovery, but remained mum about whether Mendes and Hall had an affair at the time.
Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes seemed like the perfect couple. Talented, good-looking and successful, the dynamic duo was the talk of the town. Not any town, but Hollywood. Kate Winslet, who had divorced Jim Threapleton prior to shacking up with Mendes, was the center of attention.

Every woman wanted to be her, and every man wanted to be with her. Until it all came crashing down after Kate Winslet's divorce from Sam Mendes shed light on potential infidelity. In the years since, Kate Winslet's divorce from Sam Mendes has left the actress a lot to reflect on, but one question remains: did he cheat on her with Rebecca Hall?
A source close to Kate Winslet said that "When Kate found out that Sam had grown close to Rebecca, she was upset," adding that "Rebecca is totally Sam's type-a thespian mix of brains and beauty." But what man with a brain (not to mention eyes) would ever cheat on Kate Winslet!?
The Kate Winslet divorce from Sam Mendes in 2010 took the world by storm. The two film legends have a son together named Joe, who is 8 years old now. After Kate Winslet split with the director, she rebounded with Louis Dowler, a male model. However, a year later the world saw Kate Winslet break up with him in favor of Sir Richard Branson's nephew Ned Rocknroll (nee Abel Smith). The two famously wed in secret recently in December 2012.
Not that Kate Winslet's divorce from Sam Mendes or her break up with Louis Dowler left her with a lack of distractions. She has been keeping busy in recent years between movie projects, charity involvement and yes, Winslet's marriage to Ned Rocknroll.
Kate Winslet opened up about her divorces to Harper's Bazaar U.K. "I've really learnt a great deal about myself, in the last four years in particular," she said. "I think I can see more clearly now - about how the pattern of past experiences has shaped who I am and the characters I have played - and I'm grateful for that."
Kate Winslet's divorce even provides her with acting material. "I have so much more material to draw on for work - rubble, bricks - and I know I can carry it now," she told Harper's Bazaar U.K.
Ned Rocknroll, 34, works for Virgin Galactic and was previously married to British socialite Eliza Pearson for two years. When Kate Winslet spent time on Sir Richard Branson's private island in the summer of 2011, nobody thought anything of it. Winslet was still dating Louis Dowler, after all! However, Kate Winslet split from Dowler quickly after. Could Kate Winslet and Ned Rocknroll have fallen for each other on the vacation? The two were seen together publicly for the first time only a couple of months later.
We hope Kate Winslet won't get a divorce from Ned Rocknroll any time soon. After all, rumor has it the British actress isn't all she's cracked up to be in the public eye. The Daily Mail has reported that she is allegedly "fierce in an argument and is a woman of stubborn loyalties and intense passions - you are either within her inner circle or she never wishes to speak to you again"
"There's nothing that Kate loves more than a roll-up cigarette and a good row," says one who has known her since she was a teenager. Kate Winslet's divorce from Jim Threapleton also left a child in its wake - daughter Mia, who is around 13 now.
"My relationship with Kate is perfect now. Everything is going according to plan with the divorce and we have agreed to be friends," said Threapleton. "We are structuring our lives around Mia and that is something I am enjoying very much."
Kate Winslet's divorce from Jim Threapleton and her relationship with her two children were also discussed in her Harper's Bazaar U.K. interview. I think that comes from an awareness [of the fact] that my children really need me," she said. "...and they need me to be the healthiest version of myself that I can possibly be."
