Gillian Anderson is making her return to television, but that's not the only thing making news. Her relationship with David Duchovny is also making headlines.
The former "X-Files" star was just cast in a new NBC Pilot from Rand Ravich.
According to Yahoo, the pilot is about an "unlikely puppeteer who brings everyone from CEOS to the President of the United States to their knees by threatening the things they hold most dear."
"Forced together by dire circumstances, these power brokers, the FBI and a rookie secret service agent must unravel the mystery to take back control of their lives."
Another thing that unraveled last year was Gillian Anderson's relationship. Anderson, 44, broke up with partner Mark Griffiths in August 2012. Anderson had also revealed she was bisexual earlier that year.
"I was in a relationship with a girl for a long time when I was in high school," she said.
Shortly after her split, rumors spread that Anderson was actually dating her "X-Files" costar and current "Californication" star David Duchovny.
Duchovny, 52, split from wife Tea Leoni in 2009 after much scandal during their 14-year marriage. In 2008, the two first broke up after it was reported Duchovny had sought treatment for sex addiction.
They most recently put their NYC home on the market for 9.25 million dollars.
With both stars single and with talks of another "X-Files" movie happening very soon, it would be the perfect time for these two stars and "good friends" to finally make their relationship public.
Some speculate that with Gillian Anderson taking this role, which is a departure from her famous "X-Files" character Scully, she is trying to make a career comeback and gain new recognition for her acting skills. After that, she and David Duchovny can finally out in public together, which is something "X-Files" fans have been praying about for years.
Besides being such good friends, the two actors also both have children. David Duchovny has two children, a girl, Madelaine, and a boy, Kyd. Gillian Anderson has two sons, Oscar and Felix, and a daughter, Piper.
If the two actors did decide to get married, it would be Anderson's third wedding, while it would be Duchovny's second.
