Ben Affleck has shaved off the beard that he claimed helped him win "Best Motion Picture" during the 2013 Oscars. Moments after winning the most prestigious award of the night, the Academy Award-winning director reportedly buzzed his face bare. TMZ reported that the "Argo" star shaved his beard in the middle of the film's after-party "in a hallway right outside the bathroom".

A source tells E! News, "He [shaved his beard] to mark the end of a chapter. It had that ceremonial quality to it."
All eyes are back on Ben as we wait to see photos of his smoothly shaved face. But we have to admit, we will miss his bearded look.

His salt and pepper facial hair showed just how long Ben has been in the movie making industry, something he even mentioned in his acceptance speech:
"And I'd just like to say, I was here 15 years ago or something and I had no idea what I was doing. I stood out here in front of you all and really just a kid. I went out and I never thought I would be back here. And I am, because of so many of you who are here tonight, because of this Academy, because of so many wonderful people who extended themselves to me when they had nothing to benefit from it in Hollywood," Ben said.
But the actor has grown from his "Good Will Hunting" days taking on larger productions that inevitably helped Ben succeed. He learned from his movie-making mistakes and instead of throwing in the towel, he created the best movie of 2013.
"I want to thank them and I want to thank what they taught me, which is that you have to work harder than you think you possibly can. You can't hold grudges. It's hard but you can't hold grudges. And it doesn't matter how you get knocked down in life because that's going to happen. All that matters is you gotta get up."
And Ben certainly has after being snubbed by the Academy for "Best Director." I guess the beard is only lucky for one category at the Oscars!
Tell us what you think. Should Ben have shaved off of his beard due to his superstitions or does he just look too good with his facial hair to buzz if off?
