After much speculation, sources close to Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have confirmed that they were married over the weekend at the Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, which is right outside of Charleston.
Blake chose to wear Marchesa, cleverly avoiding a feud between Chanel and Gucci, the two companies she has campaigns with. The bridesmaids wore blush chiffon Marchesa gowns with crystal embroidery and heels by Christian Louboutin. The groom and groomsmen sported Burberry suits with custom suspenders. And NYC jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz designed the couple's wedding bands.
Though Blake is only 25, the couple's relationship has progressed calmly and steadily for the last year. Previously linked to Penn Badgley and Leo DiCaprio, Blake seemed even more smitten with the 35-year-old actor who she met when filming Green Lantern.
The invite list was short, with only about 70 people in attendance. But there were a number of famous guests, including shoe designer Christian Louboutin and Florence Welch, who performed three songs.
Though the wedding wasn't at a swank New York hotel, no expense was spared - including a $3,000 wedding cake, which took eight hours to delivery via truck from Maryland.
Typically, it is websites like TMZ or People that break celebrity wedding news. But this time information came from an unlikely source. When a local radio station, 95.1 FM, tweeted: "Hold up, there's another story that it's Ryan Reynolds and he married Blake Lively at the Cotton Docks today!" the Internet rumor mill started to explode.
"A few days ago, I heard Ryan was back in town. Then today, lots of signs went up at Boone Hall Plantation stating that it was holding a private event, so no one could get into the area," the radio station's Kelly Gukanovich told E News! "I also started hearing rumors that a celebrity wedding was taking place."
"I am being told there were around 60 people at the event and that a local restaurant may have catered it. Ryan has always loved it here and when he got together with Blake, he started to bring her here, too."
This is the first marriage for Blake. Ryan was previously married to Scarlett Johansson. The couple divorced in 2010 after two years of marriage.
