She played the "fairest of them all" in Mirror, Mirror, but stunning actress Lily Collins is anything but fussy. Known for her bushy, Brooke Shields brows, slight frame and thick, dark locks, the 23-year-old daughter of Phil Collins is hauntingly beautiful. But she didn't always feel pretty.

"Big brows weren't the look in L.A., where I grew up," Lily explained. "But my mom instilled in me that it's the quirky things that make you beautiful."

Nevertheless, she used to overpluck to fit in, only to end up anxiously waiting for them to grow back. She now embraces the big-brow look - and a low-key beauty regimen. "Less is more," she said. "When I travel to Europe, I go days without putting anything on. It feels healthier. I just never understood the idea of caking it on. The more you have on your face, the more there is to smudge and go wrong."

When she does put on makeup, she sticks to moisturizer as a base, paired with a little powder, mascara and natural lip color. "Wearing a lot of makeup isn't practical for a college student," she said.

Despite her simple beauty routine, the beautiful brunette always manages to wow on the red carpet. From the gold Marchesa dress she wore to the CFDA Fashion Awards in June to her fabulous Chanel tux-inspired ensemble for the Little Black Jacket party, this petite star knows how to pack a punch. While she often sticks with a muted palette, the actress' gowns still feature lots of bling - from beautiful sequin embellishments to layers of lace - like on her incredible Valentino Met Gala gown.

Lily's role models? Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, Julianne Moore and Jennifer Connelly. "They all exude this inner and outer beauty," she told Glamour. "I learned that no matter how big you get, it's still important not to let anything go to your head."

Don't worry, Lily. It sounds like you haven't!
