The women's gymnastics team breezed through the qualifying rounds on Sunday placing the team firmly atop the standings. However we were shocked to see world champion and U.S. team darling Jordyn Wieber fold under the pressure and fail to qualify for the all-around final. With the weight of the nation's expectations on their shoulders it's hard to remember that Jordyn and the rest of the team are typical teenage girls.
The hot-pink leotards they wore for Sunday afternoon's training session were a colorful reminder, though, that these olympians are still in high school. The playful palette, which matched the floor of the Greenwich Training Gym, was a huge hit with the team. In a chat with reporters they professed their love of British accents and, of course, all things pink. We were also fans of the feminine hue and loved the adorable glittery star detail on the chest. Judging by the results, it seems the plethora of pink helped make the girls feel a little more comfortable.

Dubbed "the fabulous five" Sunday's much-lauded competitors stayed cool despite the very high expectations. Stepping out in long-sleeve royal-blue uniforms with sheer, star-scattered panels, they clinched the top position with surprising ease.
Not only were the looks age-appropriate, but they were also fun. What teenager wouldn't love the fact that the uniforms matched the mats? And even though it may be difficult to be fashion-forward in a leotard, the bright hues were right on-trend. The star detail was also plenty patriotic!
Ralph Lauren's Opening Ceremony uniforms failed to win gold, but these leotards may soon be taking home a shiny medal.
