About a week ago an unknown name surfaced on Twitter in regards ot the iOS 6 and 6.0.1 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 5, 4S, iPad 2,3,4 and iPad Mini and people got pretty excited. The team is known as the ARB Dev. Team and first provided picture proof that Cydia was installed on an iPad 2, but when that proof was discounted went on to provide a video of Cydia loading on an iPhone 4S. It didn't take long though for iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team members to take notice and shoot the new iOS 6 and 6.0.1 untethered jailbreak claim down stating that Cyrus's very easy to show running though, without root access, it will never be able to download popular tweaks and themes from the Lydia store. Two Chronic Dev team members in particular have been very vocal about calling these guys fakes, including @p0sixninja--Joshua Hill--and @nitoTV, the member responsible for jailbreak for Apple TV, though to date, he has been unable to produce an iOS 6 jailbreak for Apple TV 3.

Though the ARB Dev. team has received a lot of criticism from the well-known iPhone and Chronic Dev. teams, still they continue to work tenaciously on the jailbreak for iOS 6 or 6.0.1 everyone is wanting.

A couple days ago they produced another video which looks very promising, showing Cydia not only up and running but also with a running Cydia Tweak. Many have criticized this video also as fake, but still the team says a release date for an iOS 6 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 5, 4S and other non-jailbroken devices is eminent.

Here is the video on question.

We're no experts on this but we are hopeful. Despite the criticism these guys are still trying and continue to write updates on twitter, though most of them are in Arabic so it is difficult to keep up with.

The team even recently engaged in some discussion with @p0sixninja about his work on the jailbreak, questioning why he had yet to release it. Here is a piece of that conversation.

@p0sixninja: "No matter how many times we say "They're all fake" no one ever listens....."

@Mr_DuNh1ll : " u r good and great guy But focus in ur job and bring out what u have Shock us "Dream JB & ARB Dev" 0x000001"

‏@p0sixninja : "naw, I'd rather wait for your ETA to come and go so everything can laugh. the more fake jailbreaks, the less I want to work."

Of course these kinds of comments have gotten many in the jailbreak community in an uproar, as the read it meaning the Devs have no motivation whatsoever to work on a jailbreak for iOS 6.

We don't know if this is the case or not, but either way one thing is for sure. A lot of folks are really frustrated and beginning to believe an iOS 6 and 6.0.1 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 5 and other non-jailbroken devices is never going to surface.

What are your thoughts on the Jailbreak iOS 6 situation? Is it never coming or could it be on its way? Will an unknown team release it, or will it be one of the well-known Dev teams? Share with us in the comments below.
