If you need some convincing before upgrading to iOS 6, here are our favorite new features, now available on your iPhone with one easy upgrade.
1) Integrated Facebook:
We're not sure why Apple held out for so long on integrating Facebook into the iOS (maybe the two companies had some beef?), but with iOS 6 sharing photos and other content on Facebook with your iPHone ad easier and faster than ever. You can upload photos directly from your photo album to Facebook, and even update your status from the updated notification center.
2) Siri 2.0:
Let's be honest, the Siri that debuted with the iPhone 4S was mostly gimmick and all disappointment. All I ever used it for was setting my alarm clock and even that got old fast. But the new Siri that comes with iOS 6 is actually useful. She can show you sports scores, movie times and Yelp restaurant ratings rather than just offering to search the web for you.
3) Apple Maps:
Say goodbye to Google Maps. Apple has replaced the long-used and rarely upgraded app with it's own in-house Maps service. Maps are now vector based (rather than bitmap-based) so each map will load faster and handle smoother. Apple Maps also features turn-by-turn driving directions with 3D view and vocal direction from Siri. The iPhone's electronic assistant is all over Maps, she can even answer map based questions like "are we there yet?"
4) Reject Phone Calls With A Text Message:
This new feature is pretty genius. If someone calls you you can reject the call by choosing to instantly send them a text message instead. Choose from a pre-selected list or add your own.
5) Panorama Camera:
Developers have been making panorama iPhone apps for years, but now you can take beautiful 240 degree photos with a new built-in feature.
More: Other new features include Passbook (which organizes all your e-tickets and lets you "shred" them when you're done), an improved "sharing" menu, a redesigned Music app, Facetime over 3G service, and beautiful new emoji for texting.
