He was the rock legend and has a big influence in fashion because of his unique statements. Now that he's gone, many are celebrating the style that David Bowie left. Many are paying their last tributes to honour the late singer, and even Burberry's London fashion show commemorated him by displaying his iconic looks.

As London Men's Fashion Week is about to kick off, Burberry started to hit the runway by revealing their new menswear collection. The British label's CEO Christopher Bailey chose to start the event to the tune of the songwriter's greatest hits, according to Yahoo! News.

"He's a complete legend. We will all miss his creativity, his style and the elegant way that he approached everything," the creative director said. Bailey was born in 1971; the same year that the multi-instrumentalist launched his seminal song "Life on Mars."

In fact, in the middle of the fashion show, one of the models showed her palms to photographers, which bore the name of "Bowie" in the inscription with big black letters. "I grew up with him. He's kind of been an undercoat to my creative life forever," Bailey told reporters.

According to The Guardian, it has been known that the record producer has a big influence in the fashion world. In fact, when he celebrated his 69th birthday, which was just on Jan. 8, many fashion websites gave tribute to his domination in the runway with men and women's collection inspired by him.

As an example, Givenchy's spring 2010 ready-to-wear show paraded a striped blazer that he wore in 1973. In 2011, Lanvin's autumn collection featured wide-brimmed fedoras donned by the arranger in his 1976 film "The Man Who Fell to Earth."

Additionally, Balmain displayed the famous Aladdin Sane jumpsuit of Bowie while Walter Van Beirendonck included the signature Aladdin Sane diagonal flash on their blazers. Lastly, Dries Van Noten and Alber Elbaz's autumn menswear used Bowie's iconic style the Thin White Duke.

Bowie died after battling cancer for 18 months, he was 69 years old. "[He] died peacefully, surrounded by his family," a statement on his social media pages said.
