Gamescom 2013: What To Expect

EA Press Conference

EA revealed in a recent blog post that fans could expect to see the following games at their Gamescom 2013 presentation

Battlefield 4

Need for Speed: The Rivals

 FIFA 14

Command & Conquer

We also expect to hear something about The Sims 4, which (fingers crossed) we hope will be showcased in full during the Tuesday August 20, 2013 EA press conference.

EA might reveal Dragon Age: Inquisition at the show as it surfaced in the latest issue of Game Informer. Of course that may just be hopeful thinking on our part, but if the game does show itself we won't be disappointed.

Sony Press Conference

OK. It's no secret Sony's press conference is set to be all about the PS4, and with a little luck we will all finally get the release date we've been hoping for. According to VG24/7 the release date for PS4 is certain to be announced as they discovered on the following priceless nugget: "We'll kick off the show at 18:00 BST on 20 August 2013 with a briefing to media on our release plans for PlayStation 4, as well as updates on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita

So with PS4 taking center stage and much curiosity out there concerning PS Vita and bundling possibilities, we're hoping to also get a little more information about how that will all pan out, but that there may be really wishful thinking.

In terms of games to see revealed, here's our laundry list for the Sony Gamescon 2013 Press Conference:

The Order: 1886

inFamous: Second Son

Killzone: Shadow Fall

And possibly,  LittleBigPlanet 3

Microsoft Press Conference

Though the time of Microsoft's press conference has yet to be announced and thus far, no live stream is planned, one thing we certainly expect is that Xbox One will be central to the company's presentation. In addition, it's been rumored we could also see at least one game announcement to accompany new information about the Xbox One. Around the web most gaming junkies are expecting the announcement of either Crackdown 3 or Fable 4.

Maybe with PS4 laying the ground for release dates, we'll get lucky and hear something solid about Xbox One release dates as well.

Here are a few games we expect, or at least hope, will be showcased:

Kinect Sports: Rivals

Dead Rising 3

Project Spark

 Killer Instinct

Forza Motorsport 5

Ryse: Son of Rome
