When will Google Nexus 7 2 release? Rumors are stirring again today as price leaks emerge, a Google Android July 24 event is planned, and speculation of an Android 4.3 release all come to a head today.

A screen shot from a  retailer's inventory showcases the prices of new Nexus 7 2 models, while pointing to a possible spec upgrade for the next Google 7-inch tablet.

When Will Nexus 7 2 Release? Android 4.3 Update And July 24 Launch Rumored

It's been rumored that the Nexus 7 2 would likely see a 2nd quarter release date, and with the end of July approaching, our hope is that the wait wont be much longer. The latest batch of rumors speculated that the Nexus 7 2 could see a July 24, 2013 release date as Google has started sending out the invites to an Android event they are holding in San Francisco on July 24. At this point no one knows what will be announced, although most rumors seem to propose that we will see Android 4.3 revealed. We've seen a number of leaks that and Android 4.3 release is drawing near, but it may also be a perfect time to debut the new Nexus 7 2 tablet, which is an update that's quite overdue.

In terms of what we know about the Google Nexus 7 2 tablet, specs and features, there is not a ton to go off of. Recently however, an Asus customer dialing the service line managed to get a number of interesting details out of the customer service rep there, and then posted the information from the conversation on Google+.  iDigitalTimes was the first to discover the information leak and posted it on their site along with photos. Here is a transcript of the information given:

Customer: Hi, I'm interested in buying the Asus k009? Do you know when it would be released to the public?

Rep: The Tablet should be released before the ending of Q2

Customer: When exactly is before Q2?

Rep: That will be before the ending of July

Customer: Oh OK can't please tell the specifications please. I believe it had a 1080p 7-inch screen.

Customer: "I just talked to customer service about the new Asus k009 they said it is a note book, is a notebook a tablet?"

Rep : "There has not been confirmed specification as yet but here is some basic specification, that you can look at "  

·      7 inch LED with 1890 x 1200 resolution

·      Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Quad Core CPU

·      2GB RAM

·      32GB internal storage

·      5MP rear camera and 1.2MP front-facing camera

·      Android 4.3

·      4000mAh battery

·      Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC enabled

·      LTE/WCDMA/GSM support

Customer: Where are these specifications from?

Rep: This is Internal Specs but it is not available to the Public as yet because I know you are eager so I just forwarded it to you

This conversation pretty much confirms the fact that the Nexus 7 2 release date is quite near and will include some nicely updated specs — particularly  the Snapdragon Quad Core processor. Let's hope that the July 24 release date prediction, accompanied by Android 4.3 is true. If so the wait wont be much longer!
