So know we know where and when the event begins, what should we expect to see today? Here's a quick breakdown of our predictions for Monday evening's Sony event.
What to Expect At Sony E3 Press Conference 2013 Live Stream
What PS4 Will Look Like: It's been a long four months since the first Sony PS4 "reveal" we watched back in February, and though the event did plenty to hype us up about the games and specs on the PS4, one thing we didn't see was the PS4 itself. The Sony next-gen console has been kept shrouded in secrecy as concept designs emerged from time to time, but no solid leaks have occurred to clue us in as to what the new console will be like.
The Sony E3 press conference live stream however we expect will finally put all speculation to rest as we finally get a look at what this new console is like, how it performs and what appeal it holds for the hard-core gaming community. For those who are just getting caught up, here's a quick PS4 spec and feature overview of what we know so far.
PS4 Specs and Features: The PS4 will feature an AMD x86-based 8-core CPU and enhanced GPU. It comes equipped with Blu-ray, DVD and HDMI output and a generous 8GB of DDR5 RAM. This kind of ram is particularly favored by developers, as it allows for higher bandwidths which are better at supporting the higher resolution graphics that are a staple of most games being developed these days. Though the PS4 won't be backward compatible, the good thing is, users will be able to stream their older PS3 games online. In addition, PS4 comes with a PlayStation smartphone app which allows iPhones, iPads and Android smartphones and tablets to serve as a second screen during gameplay. The PS4 will also feature the PlayStation 4 Eye. The "Eye" is a 1280 x 800 camera that will rival the camera offered in Xbox Kinect.
40 New Games and Gameplay Showcased For PS4, PS3, and PlayStation Vita
In a weekend blog by Sony's Social Media Manager, Sid Shuman, we got some insights as to what we could expect in the way of games and gameplay at the E3 2013 live stream events. Sony will showcase over 40 games across its three major platforms -- the PS4, PS3, and PlayStation Vita.
Here are just a few of the many titles we can expect to see during the Sony E3 2013 live stream events:

DriveClub from Evolution Studios
The Evil Within from Tango GameWorks
Gran Turismo 6 from Polyphony Digital
inFAMOUS: Second Son from Sucker Punch Productions
Killzone: Shadow Fall and Killzone Mercenary from Guerrilla Games
The Last of Us from Naughty Dog
Tearaway from Media Molecule, Wolfenstein: The New Order from MachineGames
Sony PS4 Price
As much as we'd love to confirm the planned price of the next-gen PlayStation console, it's a pretty sure bet that's one thing we won't hear anything about during the Sony Press Conference live stream. It's been rumored that the PS4 could launch with a price as low as $349. With more powerful hardware and updated features, it seems difficult to fathom that the PS4 could release at a cheaper price point than the earlier PS3, but a report put out by Expert Reviews indicates that lower cost of production could allow for a cheaper console than the earlier model due to some better hardware decisions made by Sony this time around. Here's what Expert Reviews had to say on the matter.
"The PS4 should be less of a financial burden ... by sourcing hardware from AMD rather than developing its own chips, Sony has saved a lot of money on development; plus the new console's Blu-ray drive is no longer a huge cost, as it was when the PS3 was launching with the then brand-new disc format."
This supposition is supported by some comments made by Sony's chief financial officer Masura Kato during a May earning call with analysts and investors.
"Unlike PS3, we are not planning a major loss to be incurred with the launch of PS4 ... At the time we developed the PS3, we made a lot of in-house investments to develop the chip, the Cell chip, ... this time, yes we have a team working on chip development, but we already have existing technology to incorporate and also product investment and all the facilities will now be invested by our partners, other foundries, so we don't have to make all the investment in-house."
Add this information to recent reports from a prominent Japanese newspaper which stated that the PS4 would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of JPY 40,000, which translates to about $400 in US dollars, and it seems that $349 estimate might not be too farfetched. Still, we imagine it'll be a while yet before anything is truly revealed concerning the PS4 price, so don't expect it during the Sony Press Conference live stream!
