Legend of Korra Season 2 release date may very soon be revealed by Nickelodeon so keep up hope! For those of us who check the Internet daily for any hint at a release date on Book 2 of The Last Airbenders, the suspense has been unbearable! We've waited for well over a year since Book 2 was completed to receive some news that Legend of Korra Season 2 was on its way. Nickelodeon revealed a new Book 2 "Spirits" teaser about a month ago, but it only left us more eager than ever for the release date announcement.

Then, in the last week of May, Nickelodeon made an announcement on its official Facebook page that stirred the pot even more claiming an Avatar-related surprise should be expected the first weekend of June. Of course most assumed it would be some news related to the much-anticipated Legend of Korra Season 2 release date, but alas, it was not. In fact, all the "surprise" turned out to be was simply making the Last Airbender series available on Nick.com for the weekend. Pretty lousy, but definitely a surprise eh?

Earlier in May, the Track Team sound design duo, Jeremy Zuckerman and Benjamin Wynn, who we know to be working on Legend of Korra Season 2 announced on Twitter that "some exciting news was coming." Responses came flooding in, and on Tuesday, the Track Team once again reassured a questioning fan that though it's already June, they will announce the news "As soon as we can. Hopefully not too long!"

Besides these hints, there has really been no new or solid evidence that the Legend of Korra Season 2 release date is near.

But one very passionate Last Airbender blogger -- who happens to run the http://avatarthelegendofkorraonline.com website --  suggests that though we may have to wait till July, it's very likely at that time all details about the Legend Of Korra Season 2 will be revealed. That announcement would include a trailer, plot details, and finally a release date.

Here is his take on what to expect in terms of new Legend of Korra in the next couple of months.

"A little over a week ago, the Track Team came out and announced that some "exciting news" would be coming soon. Soon after that, the Track Team went into a bit more detail and announced that fans should expect the news in early June. At a first glance, most would probably assume that we'd be getting Book 2 news in June. But if you really think about it, would receiving Book 2 news in June make any sense? To be quite frank, no, receiving Book 2 news in June would make little to no sense at all.

The reason why I say this is because as of now, there are really only two things this fandom is waiting for - a release date and trailer. With Comic-Con coming this July, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that we'll be getting both a release date and trailer during the convention. If this really is the case and Nickelodeon is saving these two announcements for Comic-Con, what type of Book 2 news should we expect to hear in June?

We could receive some sort plot details in regards to Book 2, but my gut tells me that they'd save that information for Comic-Con too. After all, wouldn't it be perfect if Comic-Con showed us a trailer, announced the release date, then talked more about Book 2's plot? That's the dream scenario that could very well become a possibility in July.

The fact of the matter is that there is really nothing substantial that would be worth revealing in June. Nickelodeon is likely saving the "big guns" for Comic-Con. It wouldn't make sense for Nickelodeon to waste time doing a minor reveal of Book 2 in June and then do a massive reveal during Comic-Con. It would make more sense for Nickelodeon to save everything for huge reveal at Comic-Con."

The blogger goes on to say however, that though news about Legend of Korra Season 2 may be scarce over the next month, it doesn't mean we'll be completely deprived of Last Airbender and Avatar news. In fact, he believes the "big news" that has been touted by the Track Team will more likely be an Avatar announcement -- one in the form of a Last Airbender soundtrack.

"A soundtrack is something that's been longed for by the fandom for years now, and it's only a matter of time before Nickelodeon makes an announcement for it." Keval suggests.

We think he's probably right on track.

Though the wait has been long for Legend of Korra Season 2 release date to finally arrive, as Nickelodeon has stated, "It's coming." Let's just hope the wait isn't too much longer.
