One Direction is confirmed to split for good five months after it was announced that the popular British boyband would extend hiatus in March. Does this mean that fans will have to say goodbye to Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne forever?

A source close to One Direction revealed to Us Weekly that the quartet will have to go on separate lives after five years of being a group. The said announcement came after Niall denied the reports of a split in November last year.

"We're not breaking up," the 22-year-old hunky singer told Entertainment Tonight at that time. "We're literally taking time out to see our friends and see our family, and reflect on what we've done over the last few years."

The unnamed source added that the boys of One Direction decided not to renew their recording contract after officially concluding their "On the Road" Again tour October last year. "The 1D thing just ran its course," the insider revealed. "They'll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers."

Though the boys are reported to split and go on their separate lives, fans are still going to see them doing stuff other than singing. As a matter of fact, International Design Times previously reported that Harry will try his luck in Hollywood as he is reported to launch his acting career.

Liam, 22, on the other hand, is said to be interested in writing songs and production.  As for Louis, 24, is going to be busy fulfilling his paternal duties to his upcoming baby with stylist friend Briana Jungwirth.

Meanwhile, Niall was adamant when he denied that One Direction is not splitting up. "Yes. Don't let the papers or online stuff tell you we're not coming back," he wrote via Twitter when a fan asked him if 1D is returning for future shows. "We are, I'm just going on a long holiday."
